YAI Arts

YAI Arts is a collective of thirteen visual artists based in Manhattan, who express themselves in a variety of media and styles. For their Summertime residency, they created a nostalgic dinner party featuring a papier mache feast. A triple decker cake, a pineapple, fish head pie, jello molds, and a meatball platter were amongst the offerings.

For their final exhibition, YAI Arts transformed Summertime into a cozy, 1970s home inspired by the artists’ memories and imaginations. Their immersive exhibition celebrated the artists’ connections and roots while expanding traditional notions of family. The walls of the show were painted hot pink and adorned with framed drawings of families real and imagined, as well as genuine trinkets and tchotchkes culled from the artists’ homes.

YAI Arts is composed of: Everette Ball, Leroy Pettaway, Christine Buda, Christopher Chronopoulos, Mallory Perry, Diogeneis Costa, Brian Dyer, Lauren McArthur, Jennifer Quinones, Oswald Saenz, Priscilla Frank, Tayloe Schinz-Devico, and Jimmy Tucker.
