Dietrich Sieling
Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Dietrich is a seasoned artist whose particular passions are “fridges, freezers and friends,” green bus lights, and Oreos. One of the purest and surest joys of his day — and life — is a solo walk to a coffee shop — the encounters along the way, culminating in a cup of delicious black coffee.
Over the course of his residency, Dietrich focused on refrigerators and freezers, the food inside them, the "whowiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" sounds they make, and, on occasion, their proud owners.
Dietrich’s favorite kind of refrigerator is the side by side model with a freezer on the left and refrigerator on the right. He loves using Espresso and Chocolate colored Prismacolors and his work has been shown at the Minnesota Museum of American Art, Kabinett and Kammer, on Governor’s Island, Bockley Gallery and many more.
